KNITWEAR LAB introduces ABL Estudio, who joined us in this project, bringing in a lot of inspiration, fresh design vision and passion for knitwear.
ABOUT ABL ESTUDIO
ABL Estudio, a brand based in Monterrey, Mexico. Alvaro Barrera Lozano, founder of ABL Estudio draws inspiration from Mexico’s intense working culture, as well as its equally intense leisure activities and social lifestyle. ABL Estudio designs with versatility and practicality in mind allowing the wearer to modify a garment and to morph throughout different environments. These environments vary in climate, Monterrey’s temperature can change drastically within the same day. It also considers the different levels of formality in social spaces, or different levels of intimacy. This versatility is not to be confused with diluted identity, but more so with range and the complexity of ones day to day life. Alvaro is passionate about exploring different materials, different forms, and textures. “its a bit insane how the possibilities are endless with knitwear. Its a different world, and I’m trying to learn its language”, says Alvaro.
