KNITWEAR LAB introduces ANNA-MARI LEPPISAARI, who joined us in this project, bringing in a lot of inspiration, fresh design vision and passion for knitwear.

ABOUT ANNA-MARI LEPPISAARI

Anna-Mari Leppisaari is a knitwear and textile designer, and a Lecturer in Textile Design, based in Finland. Currently she has an artistic working grant to explore the possibilities of virtual knitting. Anna-Mari’s work is focused on combining textile traditions with new technologies. She is endlessly fascinated with bringing together exquisite materials and playful structures into knitwear staples. She believes that the haptic knowledge gained through hands-on experimentation is a perfect foundation for utilising virtual knitting technology. The collection developed by Anna-Mari focuses on playing with adjustable ribbons, gradients and herringbone motifs, translated from weaving to knitting.
