KNITWEAR LAB introduces MATILDE PACHECO, who joined us in this project, bringing in a lot of inspiration, fresh design vision and passion for knitwear.

ABOUT MATILDE PACHECO

As a knitwear designer whose practice is based in Uruguay, Matilde’s expertise is deeply rooted in working with wool yarn and wool products. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant countryside culture, incorporating elements from traditional gaucho attire and the skilled craftsmanship of “guasqueros” (artisans specializing in leather knots). Matilde delved into Uruguay’s enduring rural tradition, because of the profound connection between this heritage and the wool production process.

The collection’s silhouette and volumes draw inspiration from the gaucho, the caretaker of the livestock, emphasising the intimate link between the shepherd and the source of our exquisite wool.

At the core of the collection lies the yarn itself, specially developed in collaboration with an Uruguayan yarn mill dedicated to wool products.
